seems like they should have been moveing those cabins years ago to a safer place and putting up barriers to make it safer.

WOW, BIG Boulder is right. Makes me wonder about the forest service and their people who make these dumb decisions

I am glad that the campgrounds for RV's are located a little farther from the cliffs than those cabins.

The cabins where located under the cliffs by the hotel opperators in the early 1900's or late 1800's, with no real reguard for their safety or lawsuits.

Here is another picture of the bolder, from the second news artical.

Ouch! DW and I have stayed in those cabins. We stayed in cabin 203 ( I just looked it up ). So that was the cabin we stayed in.

We stayed in one of those on our first trip to Yosemite years ago and we had a cabin right up against the cliff. I remember feeling fairly intimidated by the heighth and wondering about rocks, etc. as I tried to sleep at night. I'm surprised they haven't been closed by now and even more surprised to learn that no more have been hurt.

This will be a good excuse for the wackos to permanently remove lodging. Now that they control our nation we are sure to become a target also.

The granite sheers off often. Not the first time, they wiped out some tents in recent years. There were minor injuries in this one, and a young child was seriously hurt I believe.

Personally, curry village has always spoiled the ambiance of the valley. But, it has provided a unique experience for many to stay there.
There have been may others who have died, respect the cliffs just like the Norcal ocean waves that sweep many out to sea.

The air blast alone from the rockfalls can knock down hundreds of trees like this one in 1996.
A wild place, that is why most love Yosemite.

And, would you need to change your shorts in 1982 when this happened?
