On my one-year and one-day anniversary my tongue jack (ultra fab) went out on me. I called my dealer (McClains in Fort Worth) and they told me it had a one-year...and not one day more warranty (he said it nicely). He told me that Ultra Fab will provide warranty service up to one year...but not one day more.

So I'm looking for a "non" ultra fab replacement for my KZ spree 240BH which is a 4500 (empty weight) trailer. I like the looks of the barker 3500, but I'm not sure where to go. I really don't live close to any RV dealers (about 90 miles any way I go) so I'm looking at E-bay and or just mail order from someone.

Any opinions on where I can order a new one with preferably more than a 1 year warranty?

Thanks,

CampinHappy

We have the Ultra Fab 3002 jack. It was at least a year old but couldn't find the receipt when it went bad. We had purchased it from Camping
World, called a local rv dealer who quoted me a price of approx. $25 for him to order a new switch, as the jack would only go down and not up. Another dealer provided Ultra Fab's website. From there, I got the phone number and called them. They were very nice to me and I explained how old it was. They shipped me a new switch at no charge. Depending on what the problem is with yours, you might want to try this route. Good luck, Dean

I agree with wentcamping, give Ultra Fab a call. Hopefully they will be a stand up company and help you fix it.

don't know about Ultra Fab company, but I had a barker that was 20 years old and they sent me parts to repair it. I got it running again and gave it to my son, he used it for two yeas and gave it to his cousin. Reason, I got rid of it, I got a new TT and it had a new Barker on it. Same with my son, then the cousin got a new TT. Barker stands behind their products, and I can attest to that. End of story.

I agree with previous posts call ultra fab. If they wont do anything go buy a barker. I have had my 3000 deluxe for 2 years no problems. They will stand behind their units.

Ultra fab has a repeated history of great customer service. Contact them before doing anything else.

Ok...Okay everybody! I sent them an e-mail last night through their web site so we'll see what happens.

One thing I can say is that if you never have tried raising/lower your jack without power, you should try it before you "have to". Due to the location of my propane tanks I could only turn the manual crank a half turn, remove, reposition, half turn...etc. I ended up getting my dremel tool and cutting a socket to make a notch that would fit over the manual crank and then used my power drill that I use to raise/lower my stabilizers so it wouldn't take me an hour to raise the lift.

The other "lucky" thing I did was to keep my original crank lift in my front storage bay. Last night (we're on the road this weekend) I pulled off the broken electric one and put on the manual crank. It's crank is perpendicular to the propane tanks so it works just fine. But after cranking just once..I realized that I want my electric jack back...that's the fact .

THanks for all the replies!
