We are considering an Avanti by Damon. We have seen one at a dealer and ridden in it. Has ANYONE bought one? I have looked all over for a forum that reviews or even discusses the owners viewpoints as opposed to the advertising. I don't want to buy a one of a kind RV! I would like to know if it is powerful enough for mountain driving and can it tow a small car or truck. Of course the salesperson says it will do anything. All help is appreciated

Been looking at this and similar small diesel rigs, just haven't seen the "right" floor plan yet. Waiting on owners comments.

There was some discussion when the Avanti first came out but nobody had any experience with it at the time. Comments at that time were that the price seemed high for a small MH. Maybe it is not possible to reduce the price more even on a smaller MH. To me the Avanti seems like it is doing a lot that should have been done all along like reducing air drag and making a lighter MH, but my 36' DP that gets up to 12 MPG has the room and features that I want. Looking at their literature, I see that the Avanti has a 200 HP Cummins engine. I wonder what that could be.

Lay in the bed and see if it is long enough for you to sleep comfortably. I had heard that it is somewhat shorter than standard and it can be a challenge to some people to get a good night's rest. Doesn't matter how well a coach rides during the day if you cannot rest comfortably at the end of the day.
