This is just something I've been wondering a while. What is the difference between a 5th wheel built on the east coast and being built on the west coast?

Don't know why that popped in there.

I believe most are built in Indiana, however, there are different insulations packages you can order on a 5er when you order one. Some dealers pick the most popular options when they order one for floorstock and that might be based on the geographic location.

There are a couple of RV Brands (Skyline for example) that ask you to pick West Coast or East Coast, as the models built in each place are slightly different, not necessarily in insulation, but some models sell better in some areas than others.

According to the Skyline Nomad website, it is entry level with aluminum sides (which is OK and not an issue), steel wheels, etc...and the Skyline Malibu (not available in the Western Region)is Fiberglass, has optional alloy wheels and has the identical standards and options as the Nomad!

Ideally, you want a centraly built RV and would therefore be compatible with either coast

Because a few manufacturers DO ACTUALLY have more than one plant.

Forest River, for example, has a plant in Indiana, and Oregon.
