I got my 3/4 ton crew cab with a 6' box. Now what is the best type of hitch to get. I have heard that you should get one with a slider, but what size woulge best. Any hints.

Thanks Ted

What fiver are you looking at? Some of the new ones have recessed front corners that allow very sharp angles between truck and trailer before contact.
(NO fiver is going to handle 90 degrees 'coz you cant get 48" into the 37" between pin and truck window!)
That being said, if you decide on a slider, do you want automatic or manual?
Auto gives you peace of mind, but is expensive and heavy.
As for size - get one that has a rating greater then the GVWR of your trailer.
Alternative is a pivoting pin box from fifth-airborne.
You can combine it with an air-ride version if needed here.

BTW, I have a Superglide and I think it's GREAT!

That is a million dollar question. Some prefer a manual slide, others want the automatic slide feature, where others prefer the standard set feature, no slide. With a short bed truck pulling a fiver, Like mine, you may run into some situations that a slider type hitch will work to your advantage. But some want the automatic slide type, but they are at least two times the cost of the manual slide models. I have the Reese 16K manual slide, and have had it now for 11 years. and may use the slide feature a few times every year, mostly backing into tight spots, but watch the cab clearances as you can get into trouble with the short bed PU even with the automatic slide type hitches.
There are many forms on this subject.

I have an 06 dodge ram 6 ft bed. I got a super gulide hitch for my 30ft fifth wheeler. The only problem is you almost have to be stright in line to hitch up. You cannot be off more than 16 degeees.

PullRite SuperGlide for a short bed truck. Expensive but eliminates costly and potentially dangerous mistakes. The "16 degree" hitch-up/un-hitch is a non issue...hasn't caused me any issues in 4 years! I can jack the trailer by 90 degrees if I want, completely automatic slide mechanism!

Go to the PullRite website and view the video.

While true if you simply want to back up and hitch, you CAN lift the top plate out of the saddle (2 pins), snap it onto your pin-box, then back up the truck and lower the fiver into the hitch.
Only way I can hitch and unhitch in my driveway at home (see sig pic).
It's a bit of a PITA but works when you have no choice.

Really depends on how deep your pockets are. The slider is cheaper than your rear window though.

Pullrite Superglide is the only way to go IMO. When I bought my 5er new, I made the dealer throw in the hitch and installation as part of the deal. You might want to get your bed spray lined first.
