RE: Poor water flow on city water system

I assume you started at the city water connection point and checked each item for good flow before you connected to the inlet point on the motor home. I would check from the inlet point to the pump area where you get good pressure. There may be some type of screen in that area.

RE: Small footprint Home Theatre System Needed

Probably need your budget before anyone can make a reasonable reccomendation. There are some Bose systems from under $1000 to over $8000. If you google "book shelf surround sound you get some interesting systems. Ours plays through automotive speakers that it shares with the dash radio CD player and leaves a lot to be desired.

RE: Dexron lll Transmission Fluid

All Dexron Fluids are backwards compatible so IV, V, VI or what ever will work. The Transynd and others that meets the APSI specifications are also compatible and can be mixed with each other.

RE: REAPOLSTRY RECLINER AND TWO CHAIRS

Got a price at Lazy Days from their on site vender Wade RV and the captians seats in Ultra Leather was $1000 per copy. We also tried a gentlemen that does a lot of street rods locally and he has not worked with Ultra Leather but would end up being about the same cost. We would replace our existing recliner with a Euro Style instead of recovering.

RE: Tire Hits Airbag (with pictures)

Our 1997 Beaver had the front tire clearance issue when we went from 255/70 R 22.5 H tires to 275/70 22.5 H tires which are an inch taller and wider. They faxed me the procedure to move the front axle foward so it will clear the air bag pictured. It is not a major deal and was approved by then Beaver/Safari.

RE: Trans synd

I will bet you have Transsynd already in yout transmission as Allison made it standard in the M3000/M4000 transmission several years before your MH was built. Your Allison owners manual should have the correct information.

RE: Surge Protector?

Our hard wire 50 amp has saved us from voltage drops on several occasions and the time delay feature after a brown out sure helps save you AC unit compressor. I would reccomend a full featured model with a lock if you use the portable.

RE: Heart Freedom and AGM Charging

Thanks for your answers. I had a duh moment when I reread the manual and found my dip switch set on over 80 degrees and it sure has not been that here in FL. Decided to stay with the current set up and pay attention to the dip switch settings.

Heart Freedom and AGM Charging

Have an original equiptment Heart Freedom 20 Inverter Charger in our 1997 Patriot and recently replaced the house batteries with AGM. Thinking of upgrading the charger part of the system since there is no AGM settings for the DIP switches and Xantrax (Old Heart) technical support has been less than interested in helping.
We do not use the inverter enough to want to replace the whole thing but think we could get a smart charger and turn off the inverter's charging function. Any how to and reccomendation appreciated.

RE: Back Up Alarm

Most back up alarms are wired into the back up light circut. If the circut is not heavy enough a relay and seperat supply. No dash switch required.

RE: Monico Parts and Service

This is just one of the reasons you should belong to your brand of coach's Owners Club. Instead of just you looking for resources or fixes for your RV a member probably has "been there and done that" and may have a simpler and cheaper fix than an RV service point that may use a more expensive procedue. You also may get to less expensive parts access points. Most owner clubs also have web pages and BB's with a lot of experience and owners who love to answer your questions.

RE: 4 spd with Cummins?

We had a 210 CAT with a 4 Spd and the max speed was 62 at 2400 RPM Grossed about 24,000 lbs and got about 10.5 MPG. Several owners said they ran near the red line of 2800 RPM and did fine but never tried it.
We wish we could get the same mileage with our current MD3060 (6 spd and 330 CAT) but we do get about 8 to 9 grossing 33,000 at 62 but can go 75 or more and be in the safe RPM range.

RE: Close fit on Overhead door Clearance, Freightliner

Talked to a sales person at Buddy Gregg and the had to modify the air suspension to stay deflated to clear a door. Our motorhome's air suspension dump valve only works when the ignition is off.
dad45 the house portion is attached to the frame rails which has the engine and transmission attached to it the drive shaft angle and clerances change when you change the ride height. Think of it as a RR box car then air bags then the "trucks" or wheel units that are on the rails.

RE: Emergency exits

The Bedroom and Living area each have at least one escape window per code. The living area has the entry door and escape window and the bedroom the escape window. That is three exits.

RE: Dealer responsible?

Most motorhomes are delivered to the dealer winterized but the PDI would probably dewinterize the MH.
The dealer seems to have asked you if you want it winterized again and you did not state if they was going to charge you for the winterization. Did you ask if there would be a charge?

RE: Remco Drive Shaft Disconnect

Towed a 91 Ford Explorer with one for 5 years then changed it to a 1997 Ford Explorer and towed it for 6 years for a total of 150000. We then got a $100 trade allowance for the one currently on our 2004 Dodge Durango which we have towed for 40,000 plus miles since new.
Clean with WD 40 and lube with a silicone spray every few months.
Preformed as advertized with no problems except we lost the snap on pin clip for the disconnect cable and replaced it with a small bolt and lock nut.
Advice: if you buy one make sure they balance the shaft and have it installed by their reccomended installer.
We reccomend it over spending the extra money to buy a 4WD towable SUV unless you want (need) a 4 WD vehicle.

RE: CAT diesel question on startup?

My cat does the same thing, when it goes out, i start it, then it comes back on, I shut it down, till it goes off, then start it, it comes back on for a few, then goes off...
Mine does the same thing.
Do not turn off the engine if the pre heat light comes back on it is doing its normal job of heating the intake air as stated above.
