RE: Master reset switch on a Hi-Lo?

Thanks for the response. DH said he knows where the fuses are, but not the breaker box itself. So, were the two of these located together on your unit? (Please understand I am trying to interpret and relay "man language.") Thanks for your patience.

Master reset switch on a Hi-Lo?

Hi,
We had a blown light near the front of our 29' 1999 Hi-Lo, so DH replaced one bulb. He tried it and neither it nor other lights in the front end (kitchen end) of the camper work. He looked for a master reset switch and hasn't located one yet. Other sockets and lights are OK. We'd appreciate any help anyone can offer! Thanks!

RE: One-skillet beef dinner

In Mx. the beef here(carne asada)is very thinly sliced, you can almost see through it. I'm always looking for recipes that will work with it. This one will be perfect. It also sounds delish. Thanks
Wow, that makes Southern soul food sound really culturally diverse.

RE: One-skillet beef dinner

Sounds good Real GOOD. Will probably add a little Tabasco for my tastes though.
Absolutely. I didn't this first try. The original recipe came from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. It called for two bunches of greens, but when I got the first one in, my skillet was almost overflowing. The "pot liquor" was really flavorful and good for sopping.

RE: Yurt camping?

Haven't stayed at one, but did peek through the windows at a GA ST park camp. thing was georgeous. It was basically a cabin with canvas sides. AC & heat included, hardwood floors, just gotta hike to the bathroom.
I confess! I did, too at High Falls. They did look comfy, and I think I could talk our teen girls into "yurting."

RE: Yurt camping?

Lots of Oregon State Parks have yurts. They are very popular and probably require reservations, especially at those parks open year round. Even better, several parks have started including cabins. The only downside is they don't allow pets in yurts or cabins.
I know. I hate the "no-dog" rule. Bullet is my best camping buddy, and I know he would not do any damage, but I guess they have to have their rules for the benefit of the majority.

Yurt camping?

Several of our state parks in Georgia have yurts to rent. Has anyone tried one? It looks interesting, and would beat hauling a tent for a one- or two-night trip. Rules are that you still have to cook outside, which is one of the best things about camping, IMHO, anyway.

One-skillet beef dinner

tried this in my home kitchen the other night, but think it would work at camp on a grill or Coleman. It's a great one-dish meal. Prep work could be done at home (chopping, slicing and putting in resealable bags) for a first-night-at-camp hearty dinner. Make sure your skillet has a cover. A Dutch oven would probably work well too.
One-Skillet Steak and Veggies
1 pound flank or flat-iron steak
1 tablespoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons oregano
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon (or less) Cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
Non-stick cooking spray
8 red potatoes, scrubbed clean and halved
3 cups finely chopped onion (Vidalia gave it a little sweetness)
1 (15-ounce) can beef broth
2 large cloves garlic, minced
2 carrots, peeled and cut into julienne strips
1 bunch greens--mustard, kale or turnip, thoroughly cleaned with stems removed and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
Freeze beef about 30 minutes. Then thinly slice it across the grain about 1/8 inch thick and 3 inches long. In a resealable bag, combine spices and add steak strips, shaking to coat well with spice mix.
Spray a large skillet with non-stick spray and preheat pan on high heat. Add meat, and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and add potatoes, onions, garlic and broth. Cover and cook 20 minutes. Stir in carrots and place greens on top. Cook with cover on for about 15 minutes until carrots are tender. Serve in bowls with a crusty bread or corn bread for dipping. Makes 6 servings.

RE: Cake mix cookies

Goodness gracious! This made my mouth water and my belt feel tighter.
Here's another recipe with a couple more ingredients. I've never tried it with a chocolate cake mix, but I'll bet this would be excellent with any flavor. These are sticky and messy to make, but dangerously good!
1 egg
1 box yellow cake mix
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 stick softened butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix ingredients, kneading with hands if necessary. Refrigerate 4 hours or more. Roll into balls, then roll in powdered sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

RE: Favorite End Of Day 'Adult Drink'

Love these posts that start before 8 a.m. Y'all get going early. In the fall, a cold pumpkin spice beer hits the spot at the end of the day. In the summer, Blue Moon Honeymoon ale with a slice of orange twisted into a frozen mug is awesome. Just for grabbers, though, Miller Lite or Mich Ultra is da bomb.
