ljroorda, your assumption is a little off....the OEM receiver in the picture does bolt to the frame in a total of 8 places, including the 2 visible in the picture. Problem basically is that the receiver tube crosses under the lateral bar, not into it like the aftermarket design. That means any lateral stress is carried by those stamped steel gussets, which is what tore in the photo above. Receiver on my Sub is rated for 1500 tongue and 12000 total with WD setup.
