Lots of good info... thank you.
To answer some of your questions/concerns:
- If things go to plan, we would be starting off debt-free in a fairly new motorhome (less than 3 years old).
- The dollar value that I'm saying we would have to earn takes into account that we would be earning something on our savings. And could use the principal amount for major purchases and emergencies.
- We are currently saving into 2 types of plans. Those that we can use whenever and those that we must wait until a certain age.
- We have no kids so the goal is to die happy with $1 in the bank. Naturally, the trick is knowing which day we'll die. :-)
- We are lucky with Health insurance and it would be about $2k per year in todays dollars.
- Since I was a waiter throughout college, I would not be against that and it was an option we had thought of.
Again... thanks for the feedback. This is certainly nothing we're going to jump into lightly and I appreciate any and all comments that may hit upon something we hadn't thought of.

Hi Tony,
Sounds like you're taking the right approach. Being in the business, I've talked to a lot of folks that don't have as clear a plan as you all and they have already moved forward. Sometimes disasterously.
The first thing I would ask you is what do each of you like to do and also create an outline of your life for the next 30 years or so. Each to do it seperately and then show them to each other. Now create one from the two - don't move forward till you do.............

You might want to check with some of the carnival operators too.
They work alot of hours when they work fairs but the pay can be good if you can show them you are above the average worker.
I would also be careful with your health insurance. If you are paying $2,000 a year now I would figure at least a 15% increase each year.

Tsalla Apopka has given some very helpful advise. I would also suggest to include in each outline where you would like to go, what you would like to see, etc. Sometimes spouses have different hobbies, dreams, plans, etc. This way when the outline is combines it can reflect a little of what both want to do, see and and their hobbies.
I would agree that 35racer does have a workable plan.

Tony,
Also check each states employment security department. They have jobs and also you can list with a temp agency that is nation wide.
Hopefully your Motorhome payment is not to high.
You need to include health insurance, vehicle insurance, and many other things on the road.
