Our RV, named Lucy, had to go to the doctor, to fix problems from rear tire blowouts. DH "cleaned" out the fridge, but left a package of hamburger meat in it. It sat in the sun at the dealer for a month.
Can you saw stinky??? And buggy???
Got all the physical mess cleaned up, but what can I do about the smell inside the fridge? I've got baking soda, and a bowl of vinegar (separate items) in there right now.
ARe there other things I could do??
Thanks so much

I would thoroughly clean it with a Pine Sol or Mr. Clean and then let the baking soda and vinegar stay in for a while with the fridge turned on. Good luck!

There are companies that specialize in getting the stink out. Check with a local rv dealer. A HUGE does of Fabreeze may help but getting the oder out will be difficult.

Vanilla. Get some Vanilla extract, wet an old rag and wipe down the interior of the refer with it. Allow to sit overnight, then wipe out with clean damp cloth. Be sure to use rubber gloves or your hands will smell like vanilla for weeks. It may take several applications, but it will work.

Eeeww. That would be a mess. Isn't there a tip about putting charcoal in things with bad odors?

Thanks for all the tips!! I'm writing them down to try.
And yes about the charcoal, I need to get some, all we have currently is the quick light, with the lighter fluid on it already. I need plain ole charcoal.
And I love the smell of vanilla, that would be a fun one to try.
And I'll call the good RV shop and ask.

An old hand once told me to take a shallow pan and pour a ser ounces of Holding Tank liquid in it, close the fridge for a few days.
I have not tried it, but he told me an oldtimer told him years ago.
Worth a shot--if it dosen't work, you can try more expensive methods

We used to use ground coffee before it has been "cooked" to clean out the smell in our semi trailers after carrying something that smelled offensive. Just get some and leave it in an open pan - it works wonders.
