Does anyone out there no how to remove a water stain from their day/night window shade. I had a leak from my overhead window that dripped down the shade and stained it. I'm afraid water or a wet cleaning solution will just stain it more.

thanks

We removed water stains from suspended ceiling tile by mixing water and bleach 50/50.We sprayed it on to saturation point and let it dry.Like magic! May work on your shade if it's white.Offwhite it'll probably ruin it.Luck.

I took mine down and cleaned them. The shorter one's fit in the bathtub. Soak it overnight in a good cleaning solution then rinse well and allow to dry outside. Keep the accordion shape while drying but don't fold it tight or it will take forever to dry.

If they are too big for the tub lay them out on a bar or workbench and soak them good with the cleaning solution. Allow to sit overnight covered with plastic or something like that to keep them soaking wet with the solution then rinse and dry.

Mine came out looking like new.

If you lose the shape, my book says to dampen the shade with a good quality laundry sizing, raise the blinds fully and let dry (apx. 24 hours) until the sizing has dried.

I tried to clean stains in my carpet today and when done thought why not try the cleaner on my day night shades. We have been fulltiming for some time and we have a rear kit so the shades were really stained with cooking stains. I squarted Resolve carpet cleaner on them and it dissolved the stains. I could not believe it. Did not have to take them off and soak like others have down, just squarted the spray on them and the deep stains went away. I am a happy camper.

You might try Oxy Clean. Lots of people have had good luck with that.
Mix some up and spray on with spray bottle.

I have two water stained areas in my MH one the valance over the drivers window and the other the fabric molding around the slide out.
It sounds like the resolve carpet cleaner or Oxy clean might work, do you spray it on then let it dry??

Thanks for any help,

Perry
