RE: Finding the right satellite

I have forgotten how you determine true north. It and magnetic north are not always the same. Magnetic north is affected by things that surround you, power lines, large metal structurs and such. The best way I have found to set up a dish is to find one that is working and copy its settings. Good luck.

RE: Staying at Wall marts

here are a few that are sometimes available: Grocery stores, other large retailers, hospitals, city parks, police lots, Elks Lodges, American Legions
some rest stops, BLM land and national and state parks.

RE: leak in the cab

You say first trip, is it a new camper? If it is take it back to the dealer. If not check around outside lights and the seal that you describe.

RE: Need a center cap (what size bore)

Call the dealer you bought from or Fleetwood. They should have the information.

RE: Flat tire - do those 12v pumps work?

If you are talking about a bicycle tire they work, if you are talking about a car or truck tire they take hours and may burn-out before finishing the job. Join a road service and let them take care of your flat.

RE: Order of operations

You probably have an owners manual that covers how to set up the trailer. If not call the dealer and ask for a review of the instructions. Good luck.

RE: How Many Miles in 2-Weeks?

If the 16 year old has a licence and you feel comfortable with him or her driving at least 3 of you will probably love the trip. There is no way you can make a better trip than what you describe. Go and enjoy the trip.

RE: Tires forTT

I did a search on hercules and found 12 post that basically said nothing about quality other than a dealer used them on his vehicles. Maxxis is rated as excellant. GoodYear has both good and bad reviews. It's hard to choose.

RE: Bent My Landing Gear - anyone else?

I had a simuliar problem and had to replace both legs. I could not find anyplace that would sell only one. I have come up with some lists of used RV parts dealers.

RE: Battery Sensor -- Accurate ????

I would get a good digital multimeter and check the batteries with one cable removed. Built in sensors are usually only a guide and if the above answer is any indication they are useless. 12.0 volts is basically a dead battery.

I like Trojans. Many people have posted they have good luck with Sam's Club and Costco batteries.

RE: Rear Axle Differential Swap..Should we or not!!

A F150 is too small for the job you are using it for. Trade tow vehicles and get at least an F250 properly equipted for the job.

RE: Propane tank question

Is this tank a permanently mounted one under a motorhome? If it is take a trip to Camping World at 32nd and Youngfield or a Winnebago dealer. Good luck.

RE: Roof Sealer Options

If you don't have leaks leave it alone for at least another year. Depending on what is leaking Eturnabond Tape is great for sealing around vents and joints. You probably do not need to remove the old sealant if it is smooth and solidly stuck to the roof.

RE: Sam's Club 6 volt deep cycle

If you do a search you will find that there are only a few battery manufacturers, Johnson Controls is one, as is Trojan, and there are a couple of others, I did not have great success with Sam's Club batteries but maybe I stressed them by using an inverter. My Trojans have lasted 5 years but they also only had 1 year warrentees.

The store would probably prefer Mexican money but will probably accept any of what you describe. Depending on where you exchange the money you may save by payine with Pasos.

RE: Tires rubbing underside of trailer

I would find a good RV shop and have the axles placed under the springs. They will take care of the necessary welding and insure that the axles are properly aligned. While you may be able to remove the axles and take them to a weld shop It is quite a job.
