RE: Long Point Park

We heard good things about the park and have reserv. next week to try it. However, friends just informed us that when they called for a reserv. yesterday, they were told the park was under water from rain/flooding and to call back, as they might not be open. We haven't heard from the park yet, so hope they won't be calling to cancel our reserv. This park has w/e only with a dump station.

RE: Questions about agave nectar

I use agave in place of sugar-it is low gycemic-and it tastes good, even in coffee and tea. I also could not stand the aftertaste of stevia and other sweetner replacements.

RE: Watering cats in their crate

We bought a plastic water bowl with a removable partial lid that can be used in a moving vehicle and keeps h20 from washing out. You could also make one from a storage bowl with lid-just cut circle out of the center of the lid.

RE: RV Price Shopping

On our last purchase I thought I had dealer cost figured out until I saw the invoice paper they mistakenly left inside the unit, that spelled out another 2k discount from the manufacturer, because this dealer resold such a large volume. Imvho, if I were negotiating on a 50k rv, I'd start at 24k, to leave room for me to go up, as well as the dealer to come down. As Wiscampsin says, the 2011's are coming out.

RE: RV Price Shopping

In this market/economy you might even find a 45k unit going for 35-40% off msrp, even a 2010. Start low. This might take away some of the hurt of finding out how little they offer you on your trade in?

RE: Ft. Lauderdale campgrounds

Try Enderlin (sp), a city park off Commercial Blvd, West of I-95. Wooded large sites, and less expensive.

RE: 2010 F-250 Diesel - Horrible CR Review....

As with any major purchase, you were smart to investigate and use every evaluation out there. I have been pleased over the years with CR info. I trust them much more than heavily ad loaded mags that have to find something nice about an item/vehicle or lose their income.

RE: Campground recommendations

We stayed at the Capilano Rv park a few years ago in a 30' MH. It was under a bridge area, as I recall, very close to downtown and all the amenities of getting to sights of the city. Not as expensive as others, and we enjoyed our stay. Sites are smaller, personnel were friendly, and we could leave our rv there when we took a cruise. Would recommend for those reasons.

RE: Vinyl roof???

Our last mh had a vinyl roof. It was a stiffer composition than rubber roofing, had no creases or bubbles, and it work fine on the 26' Trail-lite A. We could walk on it without difficulty and it didn't get as dirty looking as rubber. Have no idea how it compares to other roof materials, maybe others can give you the technical aspects? Oh, I was told that you had to be watchful that the builders didn't cut pieces short near openings as it could contract and create a hole?

RE: Has Anyone Bought & Towed from a RV Show?

I agree with rrupert-don't do it. Not unless it is the only model left on the face of the earth, just absolutely what you have craved a lifetime for, and expense is no object.

RE: 2007 Lance 1191 on ebay

In this case my guess is that the seller 1)thought ebay was a last resort? 2)"bird in hand worth 2 in bush"? 3)seller says here I am, here is cash, and then seller doesn't have to share with ebay or pay pal, or worry if buyer will have remorse. With those scenarios as possibilities I know I would probably be enticed to sell?

RE: Opinions needed on '07 Chevy 2500HD 6.0 gas

We just bought the 07 this fall , selling our 05 in the process. Huge difference in the amenities and comfort in the 07. Glad we made the change.

RE: Mass State Parks in May

I can speak for Nickerson in early to mid June as busy, but not full. We got in without any difficulty about 2 years ago. I believe July and August are the busiest months there?

RE: Check that skylight

We had the same problem, with the plastic edge curling up after 3 yrs of use. It was small and very hard to detect. We replaced the skylight cover to solve leak. Think the orig. was cheap/thin plastic? No problem years later.

RE: Please enlighten me on NADA values...

To save 9k on your rv, go to the midwest as others have stated. Your Ca sales tax will be that much lower, too, based on the final sales price. Ten years ago we went from Ohio to Tx to save 7-9K for our mh, since everyone here at that time seemed to be in price fix cahoots? Good luck to you.

RE: Dick Gore RV CENTER

Traveling south last year we had a hole in roof after a storm and Savannah locale did temp. repair, quickly and well. No bs about whether we had purchased there-we hadn't. Found employees knowledgeable. Would use again.

RE: Progressive RATS

Why shouldn't they cover such if you are willing to pay for it? Some independent agents may be willing to write additional? And imo insur. companies are similar to gambling casinos, the odds always favors the house.

External wifi antenna

I'm in a Fla Keys cmpgrd setting in a toyhauler with weak wifi signal . Am curious which of the external wifi antennas anyone may have experience using in a similar situation and how effective and easy to use do you think your particular brand is? What was the determining factors for your selection? Also, what unique installation methods have you devised for your particular rv?
