Anyone out there using add on fog lights on their rigs? I had Bosch amber pilots in the past for my commuter vehicles that worked great. I'd like to put a set on the new truck but cant seem to find any. A rectangular style would fit in my airdam..would only be interested in mounting low. Any replies will be appreciated....
I tried doing a search uneventfully..thanks, Bob

I have used PerLux fog cutters for years, they are great, but not cheap. Dave

i got a set from the chevy dealership. all the wiring, switches, mounting hardware, installation instructions were included. set me back about $90.00. you have to take the truck to the dealership to have the computer programed to recognize the addition once the installation is complete.

they install on the bottom of the bumper looking thru the opening of the air dam.

i have not installed them yet so i don't know how easy the installation will be.

Here's a shot of my Suburban, you can see the fog lights below the bumper. These are factory installed. Good luck with your installation. I love mine.

I was so disgusted with the 02's excuse for foglights that I swapped the air dam for a unit made by PIAA, and then added their model 520 SMR foglight (http://piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/520smr.html). It makes for an awesome combo, one that produces a lot of useful light. However, like all things PIAA, they weren't cheap.

But from what I understand, the 03's foglights are a darn site better. Maybe getting a set from the GM dealer wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Take a look at this. There is a kit to direct replace your factory fog lights. Not cheap, but about as good as you will ever get.(IMHO) http://www.sylvania.com/xenarc/prodinfo.htm]

also have the Xenarc Auxiliary kit and it is great when combined with the SilverStar. I have the beam pattern laying right on top of the low beam so that in rainy weather I still have no issues with driving. This kit also has a remote system so you do not need a special switch or replace your current fog lights. These lights also stay on when you have your high beams on so you can still have low and high on at the smae time for extra vision. Well worth the money and at sylvania.com in their performance shop they are $299 with free shipping. In total they took me about 2 hrs to get them working.

Check out eBay. There are all kinds of fog and driving lights listed and you can pay whatever (there are inexpensive ones and expensive ones listed).
