Probably a dumb question. My MH is probably like most other RV's, I connect a garden hose to a fitting to fill the fresh water tank. Is there some other way that I can pour a small amount of bleach, or other fresh water treatment into the tank? What about winterizing? How do you get the RV antifreeze in the tank w/o a fill point?

Carefully pour the bleach into your water hose, hook it to a faucet and turn it on.

Dont put undiluted bleach in, first mix about a cup or less with a gallon of water. Then pour it into the fresh water fill, not the city water hookup because that bypasses the fresh water tank. One way to get it in there(maybe not the best way) is to use a funnel to fill an empty hose, then attach the hose to a water outlet and turn it on as you normally fill the tank.

If you have a hose-fill connection as opposed to the open "pour-in" fill point to fill your water tank, as we had on a previous TT, what I did was take a hose end about a foot long and a largish plastic funnel which I stuck into the cut end of the hose and clamped with a stainless clamp. I would connect the one end to the bib, then carefully pour a measured amount of bleach into the funnel end. BTW, to this day I have never found it necessary to dilute first, but do follow it up with a cup or two of water.

I use a metal flexable, long neck, funnel. The short plastic type don't work at that angle. Correct, dilute the bleach.

There is no way to get it in my unit except thru the city hose with the valves turned to fill the fresh water tank. I did however take a PVC 4" tee and adapt waterhose fittings on each end and a screw plug on top so I can add the bleech all at once with a little less trouble

What about winterizing? How do you get the RV antifreeze in the tank w/o a fill point?
You don't put the anti-freeze in the tank. You put it in your water lines and just drain your tank. The danger of the water freezing is the expansion of the ice. If there is very little to no water in the tank, it can't do any damage. BUT you can't get all the water out of your water lines due to low spots, traps, etc. and that's where you want the anti-freeze. BTW, it is added at the water pump. Just drop a plastic hose in the antifreeze bottle and turn the pump on. It will circulate through your lines as you open faucets. You don't need to fill your water heater either. Just drain and bypass it.
Never pass up a chance to go somewhere

Pouring into the empty hose makes sense, thats what I'll do. Is this the same method I should use when winterizing with RV anti-freeze. Seems like there should be an easier way.
