My awning unrolled during a wind storm and got damaged. It looks like a easy fix. Purchase a canvas and slide it in. Has anyone replaced thier canvas and was it as easy as it looks?

I never replaced the awning on the mh but did put up a new 'Sunsetter awning on the house. It is exactly the same as the mh awning. The method is easy enough, just time consuming and you will need at least two people to do it..maybe three.
You have to have one person pulling the awning through the spring tube slot and one person feeding it in. same at the top of mh.
All in all should not be much of a problem.
I would do mine myself,,,with a little help from my friends.

Richsale,
What type of awning? I just received information ie: service, install manual, etc from Moderator BarneyS. It is for an A&E awning. I am sure the website for the Manf. would have the info you need. I read another post where the poster stated they replaced theirs and it was a simple process much like you are thinking.

I'm having my 16' A&E awning cloth replaced, three weeks ago during a rain storm at the RV park a tree limb broke loose and went right through the awning. I thought about doing it myself but since it is being replaced by my insurance company I decided to let the RV dealer do it.

NO! I'm not THAT "Pancho Villa"

Richsale, How badly damaged? I had an A&E unroll in April, but the canvas was not damaged. The lock didn't hold with 45 mph winds and me going 65. Got a new spring and lock mechanism from Campers World, about $75 I think. Was no big problem putting in alone, but I needed to drill out and install 3, 3/16" rivets. Regardless of what you replace on the canvas, be sure to check the locking mechanism and the spring. John

It's damaged pretty bad. I'd say maybe a 4' square section is pulling apart. You can be sure I'll be looking into an after market locking device. I sure don't want to have to go through that experience again.
