a foggy morning on the lake

some old cabin ruins on the hike

and old pot at the ruins, you can just see it in the chimney pic to the right of the chimney

just a dead tree

Saw this growth on a tree, not sure what it is or what might have caused it.

a closer view from the other side

Ghost and OP - Great photos. Gary knows his birds alright and Mr. Preacherman has great shots of the great outdoors.
Loved the single sailboat photo, not to mention Grandson #2!

The Montauk Daisies are finally in bloom!

Closer look at the "guest" on the same daisy:

Just got back from 2 weeks in Colorado and Utah. Lots of wonderful scenery - of which I managed to take 3,808 photographs! Started out in Denver where we drove to the almost top of Mt. Evans. Unfortunately, the last 5 miles of road were closed and we only got to Summit Lake at 13,000 feet - about 1200 feet shy of the top.

Not far from the more well-known and popular Mesa Verde, Hovenweep is a small set of Anasazi buildings dating back to the 12th and 13th century. Tough to shoot under the high desert sun, this is an HDR (high dynamic range) image made from 5 different exposures to capture both light and shadow detail.
