Hey Brenda. Sorry I haven't stopped by, but I have not had any laundry.
sheesh... you could stop by when you don't have laundry you know

course it would help if I was home when you are in the neighborhood.. lol

All I pay my psychiatrist is the cost of feed and hay, and he'll listen to me any day.

It was a long long night... Cheyenne coliced and went down... was in his stall and I was in with him trying to get him to stand up... those flailing legs in close quarters was pretty damn scary!!! Bless his heart.. he was in so much pain.. finally got him to stand up and got him out of the stall.. and he went to rolling on the ground... I sat down close to him, (but away from the hooves!) and he would stretch his neck to where his head would be on my lap.. and I could pet him and try to sooth him while we were waiting on the vet to call us back. Then took him to the vets.. 95 mph and praying... not to good of news at the vets.. he has a heart murmur now, something that is new. The impact was so far up the intestines that the vet couldn't even reach it. Possible that it is a pulmonary tumor that is wrapped around his intestines. He is to old and in to bad of shape to go thru a surgery, and the surgery is less than 50/50 to begin with. I told you guys that he has been losing weight.. continually... the vet told me that he just recently put down his 32 year old horse, and he was feeding a half a bag of feed a day.. and the horse was still losing weight, it was just part of him getting old. I have been trying for the last couple of years to prepare myself... Cheyenne is just getting old.. he is over 110 in human years... poor sweetie... I gave him his last shots at 10:30 last night, these are shots for pain.. he had a total of 6 for pain... and just sat with him... he is actually eating a little feed, grazing a tiny bit and has drank some water today so far. He is not out of the woods yet, and it is now just a matter of time... with his age, his health and all that.... just time. He beat himself up pretty bad yesterday when he kept going down... the vet told me to let him be in open pasture... away from trees and stuff if possible... he had been in the pasture, but evidently he got pretty scraped up from the downed trees and stuff that is all over out there. Just waiting now... and making sure he is not in pain. If he continues in a lot of pain I will put him down.. I can't stand him hurting. I could see it in his eyes last night and it just about did me in. Anyways... will try and catch up later...

Thanks ya'll.... thanks for the prayers.. I have been praying all day that he is not in pain. Dh said when he came home that he thinks that Cheyenne is moving a little better.. not as stiff today. So, looks like once again prayers are working .. so... thank you all so much.
