most of the seals are made of EPDM rubber, silicone may not be a good idea for them...

like the roof I just wash mine...

I agree with JJBIRISH. People are confusing the wiper with the seal. The actual seal moves with the slide. The only time that a flipped wiper would cause an issue is if retracting while the slide is wet and that certainly not cause a flood. If the OP flooded his kitchen from a rain he has more serious problems than a flipped wiper. Either the actual seal is defective or the slide is mis adjusted so it doesn't seal or the OP did not completely extend the slide.

JJBIRISH - has it correct. The actual seal is on the inside face. If you stop the slide halfway you can see/feel it. The inside overhang compresses it. As JJBIRISH states the thing you are addressing works like a windshield wiper and it doesn't matter which way it is flipped. When closed, there is another compression gasket that the outside overhang seats agianst.

Guys, you are right. It was a problem with the refrigerator vent opening. When rain blows a certain way, it came in. I caulked the area inside the bottom vent and haven't had a problem since. This is common in a Montana 3400 RL, my year, anyway.

There's an easier way to flood it. Just leave the kitchen window open 2 inches while driving in a rain storm
