I just got my Flying J Real Value Membership card and am not sure I understand what this thing is worth. It says non-fuel purchases count towards a discount on gasoline or CAR diesel fuel, but I thought this thing would help with a discount on my MOTORHOME diesel fuel purchase? Wouldn't one expect some kind of discount earned from DIESEL purchases? How does this program work?

Yes a big whopping 1 cent per gallon discount. Swipe the card at the pump before you pump or take it in to the counter if you pay inside and they will swipe it after you pump. I don't know how the other purchases are calculated but I guess you get points for every dollar you spend in the store. And when you get enough points you can use them toward a fuel purchase. As for how much you have to spend, you will have to ask at the Flying J or maybe some else will post. So on a 75 gallon purchase you get $ .75 discount.

The main reason for using the RV Value card is that you can use your credit card and get the cash price. That is a savings of 3 to 6 cents a gallon, depending on location. Also your store purchases add up quickly, if you use them for food, etc. Some months we have gotten much more than the 1 penny discount, plus we use their MC credit card, so we get a rebate for total Flying J purchases.

I know mine gives you the cash price at the pump, plus the penny per gallon. It also prevents me from having to swipe the credit card twice, the pump will stay on untill I'm done.

You get 1 cent per gallon discount on your fuel and 5 cents per gallon discount on LP. Once you spend $50 in their store or restaurant you get 1 1/2 cents off of fuel. When we eat at Flying J we have them swipe our card and once a month they give us $3 off on each meal, plus a seniors discount. Also, after we fill the diesel tank my wife gets a cup of coffe free.

Flying J may not give us RV'ers a lot of discounts but at least they recognize we, as a group, comprise a portion of their business. I figure it's somewhat like the loyalty cards most grocery stores now issue. Each offers some perk for being a steady or loyal customer.

The other great advantage to either the RV or Rewards Club is it lets you fill up without re-swiping the credit card for any fuel purchase you use the card with.
Below is the link to the Flying J website. The extra discount applies the next month (or fuel purchase in the month after you make the $50 limit).

May be a good thing and may not. If there are other stations near I'd check them out. Stopped once near a FJ and Love's across the street was .06/gal. cheaper. Not worth the points when you're filling up my 55 gallon tank. That was the cash price difference too.
I've used it but only when the fuel nearby is higher or the same.
Good luck.

Thanks guys. Good info on the website, although I didn't notice them saying we get the cash price with the card. Wonder if this card allows one to use a VISA card at the truck pumps?
