We have stayed there a lot over the past 15 years. Three trucks, three trailers and a few dogs later and we still love it.

Mount Kidd

Mount Kidd is a provincially owned campground run by a private operator. It has a camping center with a store, games room, hot tub, kiddies pool, kiddies parks, tennis courts, horseshoe pits and hiking trails. Try the hike to Wedge Pond !

There is two 18 hole golf courses nearby. If you really want to do the tourist thing, Banff and Canmore are close by.

It is one of the few full service campgrounds in the area.

Try it out and I am pretty sure you will enjoy it.

Mt. Kidd in person, from within the campground

Looking south from the south end of the campground

Sorry, these are the only shots I have handy. They were taken last October, that's when we go there. It's our end-of-season hangout. The sites are all nice, but the very best ones, really big sites, are in the electric-only loops.

We were there last weekend and will be there next weekend. In fact, the pic from our profile was taken there last saturday! it's a quiet campground, seems to be well maintained ... we'll be in #29 (Loop E) if you're in the area next week. Stop by to say hello!

Thanks to everyone who replied to the question asked. And thank you especially to MAB and XRACER for the beautiful photos. We will most definitely try to get a reservation at the campground.

We went at the end of August, got rain, but We'll go back again as it is nice, big spots and for us really close about a 45 min drive.

There are many great campsites in Kananaskis Country. Mt Kidd is the most developed, with power, water, and sewer available. If you're more into nature, try Boulton Creek or Lower Lake -- they are unserviced sites.
