I'm looking at buying one of these. http://www.campfireinacan.com/ Anyone have one and what are your thoughts.

Hi Terry,
After much research, I purchased one several weeks ago. I have not had an opportunity to use it yet, but it does look well built. Some friends bought one at the same time I did. They tried theirs for a few minutes before they left for Florida and they seemed to like it.
The company has a " Happy Camper Guarantee" (bottom of page), so you don't have anything to loose.

pretty expensive campfire, are they ok to use when theres a ban on campfire.by the size of the fire in the videos the propane should not last long.

I bought a firedancer brand last year because of forest service fire restrictions. I love it. I get approx. 20 hours from a 20 lb propane tank.
I used to ridicule this sort of artificial camping accessory, but I found that I now prefer the ease of the propane fireplace to dragging firewood to the hills , extra water to put out the fires, etc.
also, after dark, mine looks more like a real fire than I had expected it to.

I'm to old and to lazy to deal with gathering wood, etc., for a real fire. For 32 years I always had a campfire and was a campfire purist for cooking and the ambiance.
While fighting with wet wood, the smoke, and the wind for the umpteenth time, I noticed a neighbor who had a wonderful fire going. I payed them a visit and they had a FireDancer....I was sold.

We have a similar item, the Little Red Portable Campfire, from CW. It's a great alternative when there are fire bans in effect. It does go through a lot of propane when turned way up, but otherwise it's been great! We made a lot of new friends when we were the only ones in the cg with a private campfire!
I still like a real campfire when camping...

Well, I went ahead and ordered one to try...I guess if I don't like it I can return it.
We do most of our camping in Indiana and Michigan and we're having issues with bringing our own firewood to some CG's because of the Ash Borer problem so they want you to buy their firewood which gets expensive, plus the fact if you do get caught bringing in your own there could be some serious fines.

Terry, did you ever receive and use your Campfire In A Can? If so, how do you like it?
I'm trying to make a decision on which portable campfire right now - 1) Yukon Legend, 2) New Frontier, 3) Campfire In A Can (propane)...

We use ours quite a bit. Great when we have a fireban or go to a place with no fires. It also is good if it is raining out and you can still sit under the awning around the fire. Just make sure you don't have too big of blaze. I like the fact I have the quick connect on the trailer and can run it right into the main line. I have also been known to use it at home in the summer on my deck for a little ambiance instead if the big firepit.

I have used our Campfire-in-a-Can propane several times with no problems. It sets up very quickly, has a variable flame (very low to very high) and does throw some heat. Since it is fairly small compared to some others I have seen, it stores very well. I do not know how much propane it uses. I have been carrying two tanks (10lb for the grill and a 20lb for the campfire), but have switched back and forth between the two.
Since I have not used the others, I cannot compare the Campfire-in-a-Can to them.
