Why is it when you have to buy a new car it's like having teeth pulled without any novacaine. God I love the new car but the ordeal is horrible. Denny

There are ways around car salesmen.

Some local dealers set up online sales as "fleet" sales. On the west coast Dave Smith motors is very popular. I don't know what companies there are, but I'm sure on the east coast there are other dealers doing the same thing.

I also know people who have gone to carsdirect.com and had no issues.

No amount of novacaine or 0% financing, will overcome the negative -50%-60% depreciation it will incur in 3 years.

If you can easily understand the LINKED CHART, you're either a C.P.A., or stone cold sober.

The problem with buying cars, and somewhat with RVs is that car dealers (any motorized vehicle for that matter) are still selling and following steps that were taught to them 30 years ago. They haven't changed and still use the same tricks.

Stone Cold Sober, even totally S*******d I could still understand it. (I've got a friend who's the Regional Training Manager for the entire Browing Automotive Group--think Browning Dodge, Browning Mazda, Browning Nissan, etc.)

I agree with all three positions.

It still doesn't change the fact that if you deal with a dealer, they make the process a major pain. Why does buying a car need to be an ordeal?

If I have cash and know exactly what I want, why can't I be done with it in 20 minutes?
