I have an Edge power module in my 99 Dodge with 5 settings. When set at full, gives around 125hp extra. That is way more than I need, even pulling my 40ft trailer. I usually travel with it off, but pull the larger grades with it on three, five being the highest. However, if you are going to chip up, be aware, you also need to have the exhaust and intake system to handle it, as well as the gauges to monitor what is going on, and either a very well serviced tranny, or up graded tranny as I have done. Even so, with the chip on full, I could easily rip part of the drive system out if not careful.
My truck is well out of warranty, and so that is not an issue, but it will void your warranty on newer trucks, and you take the risk of major engine failures as I did a couple years ago, when my infamous 53 casting engine block cracked. (something I'm sure the power chip helped along) I still use the chip, but just what I need and no more. 80,000 miles on this rebuilt engine and 120,000 on the tranny, and going strong!

Yep, It sure will void your warranty. But if you fill you'll be OK with doing it, check out Quadzilla Products XZT Tow Chip. It gives you 65hp and you can set it for different levels of HP. One of the biggest chips used on the Cummins forums. I have my 06' 5.9 chipped with the XZT and never worryed once about doing it. Chipping gets a bad rap from guys that are pushing the hell out of there trucks, drag raceing, tractor pulling and the likes. I only use my chip when I need a little extra poop on long steep grades then I turn it off.

I have Edge Juice with the Attitude monitor. My dealer installed it for me. I only use level one for milage and level 2 for towing. It makes a nice differance for towing out here in the west. I just made a trip to Big Sky resort yesterday. 280 miles round trip (not towing) up to the mountain driving 65 when I could. Had mostly head or crosswinds. 21.1mpg. I like to monitor my gauges and use the turbo cool down feature.
I would stay away from the Workhorse. They are based here in Helena, MT. It boosts your fuel pressure. Talke to a guy that had one in town and said he did notice increased power and fuel milage but the chip went south.

If I wanted to add power to my '07 ( I don't) I'd go with the Smarty Jr.
There are very few people that don't like their Smarty.

I can't speak for Dodge but we at Ford would know.

PCM keeps a "log" of each reprogram. Date and time etc. We are also limited to to installing the "latest and greatest" calibrations with the IDS. So if a PCM is calibrated last week (shown in log) besides the p1000 code as a tip off, it would probably have an outdated program reinstalled. So the date of the reprogram might be 3/25/08 but the program that was installed was from 7/4/07. Therefore it couldn't have been by a Ford IDS. Must be aftermarket. Then all you have to do is look in "mode 6" which takes a snap shot of what things are doing at time a code is set, if that is what it came in for. Then look at boost or something else and it will either be wayyyyy high or an obvious "false" number will be in there, planted by the "chip" to keep the MIL from illuminating. This all depends on the customer not clearing the PCM. If he did all you have to do is ask them "why did you do that?" It usually comes out by then.
