I'm looking for a campground for a trip in a few weeks. Somewhere around GSMNP, NC side, near cataloochee is preferred. Would stay in the Nat'l Park, but due to family, need flushers and hot showers.

Anybody have a good recommendation?

I know of two parks near Cataloochee: Pride RV Resort and Creekwood Farm RV Park.

We've stayed in both but were in our 5th wheel, not tent camping. Both were nice parks. Check out their web pages and see if they look like something you would like. Too bad you can't stay in the park, Cataloochee has a great campground!

Beautiful part of the Smokies...have fun!

Cathy

On edit: The NPS campground in Catalooche does have flush toilets, but no showers.

Jack Rabbit Mountain, Standing Indian and Cheoah Point NFS campgrounds have flush johns & showers - maybe some of the other Nantahala or Pisgah NF cgs as well. These are three we've stayed in.

Try the Deep Creek Camp Grounds in Bryson City NC. It is family owned and operated and is close to the trails rivers and lakes. The family goes to the camp grounds every year.
