I called CW the other day when I was ordering some items, and they quickly trasferred me to 1000 Trails to hear about their promo off of 3 free nights camping. Of course, you need to listen to their 90 minute tour of the facility. Their nearest facility is about 1 hour from my home.
I don't know much about these types of memberships, and the website does not give a lot of info. If it costs thousands of dollars, I don't think it would be worth it for us if we only go on about 10 weekends trips each year, and a full week once or twice.
Instead of the 3 night promo, they offered me a free 30-day membership (supposedly worth $1000), $50 gas card, and maybe even a CW gift card.
Any input on 1000 Trails? Is this promo worth it even if I don't buy a membership? Or is it more hassle than its worth?

When you buy buy a 1000 Trails membership, you buy a used one, new from a salesman is a lot of money, dues run about $500 a year. If you want the free camping, go. Chestnut Lake is an old Naco Park with a nice manager and a small pool. Not too far from the Casinos. With any membership park, you have to use them to get your monies worth. Do a search here on 1000 trails. Or Thousand Trails, lots of info.

We went to one to get the freebies. It seems like the cost starts at around $9,000.00. You don't get much with that price. We also don't camp enough in certain areas to warrant that price. The free weekend was good though.

I'm a member and really enjoy the parks, well worth the membership. BUT! If you go to a sales promo you can't buy a used membership until a year has passed. Ours was used and a bargain, much much less than the thousands for a new one and all the same benefits. But you have to use it to reap the benefits.

asa far as the prices go they start out around 6k for camping only and then you get the getaway package for another 2k with that you get all the other half price and 10$ parks and also get 1 week a year in the getaway cabins you don't have any extra cost for extra people and no cost's for canoe and boat rentals which was our bigest problem having 6 kids the extra stuff gets expensive really fast for some it's worth it and others it is not my best friend has a membership too and he loves it
