Greetings;

Before you leave home and head south next fall - I'll count and recount my prescription(s); i.e. pill by pill. Why? Here's what happened to me. I refilled a prescription before leaving Canada in Oct. 2007 and believed (without counting) I had 193 pills in the bottle I received from my local Drug Store.

About 1 month before returning north - I found - I would be approx. 20 pills short of the 193! When US Drug Stores I visited (I did visit several) refused to refill without a new prescription - I finally found an American Dr. and following a complete physical - got another 1 month refill prescription.

Lesson learned - check and double the exact number of pills before heading south.

As you go through life you'll find that 50% of mistakes will be in your favor.

So why bother counting pills or even money for that matter.

My MIL kept running out of pills before she was supposed to. I had her count them before we left the pharmacy and found out she was shorted there. Now she checks them all the time.

Sorry to hear of your rx troubles. For 193 pills, you may want to invest in a pill counter tray. When I worked in an RX, we would use original bottles for large orders, but we would still count the pills - twice. This RX may not be doing that. You may want to consider switching pharmacies.

we find it happened all the time when we went to a cvs and we complained about it,I can see a pill or two but a dozen or more at times with a months supply what a big mistake that was, the large amount of pills missing were mostly pain med's,we went threw a couple of months of hell and switched pharmacy's only to have it follow use by the person who did the filling of the rx from cvs,we went over her head to the main office and complained more problems they said they would investigate it, pharmacist tried to throw the blame on us threaten to report us to police when we complained and switched to another company,she's doesn't seem to be there anymore but we wont get our meds from them again, haven't had any problems like that since.they must save a lot by shorting pills to customers over a years time if there not using them thereselfs.

CVS was fined for that several years ago as were several other chains. Especially for you as I imagine your insurance does not cover in this country for a physical to get meds you were cheated out of. Always check your meds. We were in a Walmart line this winter and 3 out of 10 prescriptions were wrong. A dangerous thing indeed.

I have been taking pain meds for a few years. After being shorted more than once I started to ask for a recount as I stood there. The shortages stopped. Since my pain doc got me on a mailorder drugstore no problems.

Calpine let me count your money and I'll make a mistake in your favor and then we'll split the "profit"
