Looking at a used truck with 57000 miles. Any thoughts on what to look for? Asking $30000 but I would have to trade mine in.

Sounds like TOO much. Truck is probably out of factory warranty, and with todays fuel prices, larger trucks are really taking a heavy hit in sales. Look up in the blue book for price guidelines.

Try shopping your truck to a couple of used car lots at dealerships, especially Dodge, of course. See what they offer you. This should be what the dealership selling that Chev offers. As always, do not tell them that you've decided to trade in your truck until you've agreed on a price for the new truck. Then tell them you'll trade in yours, and make the deal if the net is OK. There is no advantage to you to make the trade part of the deal up front, and the dealer has the advantage of switching numbers around just to make your head swim.

The used vehicle price guides sometimes are a little off, and sometimes are way off, usually high. They're a guide, nothing more than that. The used truck probably has lots of price cushion built in. After you've decided what you'll take for your present truck, make them a really low-ball offer on the Chev if you decide to get it. See what they come back with in this soft market. Of course, they'll try to bluff you into a high price, and they're pros at this game, so take all the time you want and keep cool.

All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.

Good suggestions. You can probably come really close to a brand new diesel for that sort of money.

Sell your truck private party. If you trade it in you get raped.

You haven't provided near enough information for us to know if the $30K is a reasonable offer. Those trucks can sticker between the upper $20's to the mid $50's depending on equipment. FWIW: Pre emission diesel's are in demand here in the south; I assume where you are too and assuming this is a D/A you're looking at.

Happy camping!!! See ya'll down the road!!!

Just on the face of it, looks like you would be going backward just to get a dually. As mentioned, your Dodge is worth money to people that want a 5.9 and I don't know anyone looking for an old Chevy. Good luck.
