My 5'er needs new tires. Right now it has four LT 235/85R16 Load G Goodyear G159 . I can't find much in choices , these Goodyears and them some Greenball tires http://www.greenball.com/tires/hiwaytrooper.htm
Anyone familiar with these?

Then with the Goodyears I have found MANY reports of blowouts, but all on different sizes than mine.
Does anyone know of an alternative tire manufacturer? Neither of my current choices look that great.

Greenball can be made anywhere in the world, primarily China. I believe you will find that most of the Goodyear issues are Load E and loaded heavy.

Goodtear RV tires G614RST is your size and especially made for trailers. Greenball is a china tire pushed by Discount Tires. The goodyear Marathon is the one you read about blowouts. You can do a store locater at their site below.

I had a tread separation on a G614RST last year. The tire never blew out and was descovered at a fuel stop. GoodYear stood behind the tire and gave me a replacement at no cost to me. Goodyear also paid in full, without question, the damage to my 5th wheel trailer. These are good tires but in my opinion, need to maintain 105 PSI in them. Even though my tire had 105 psi, other problems with this tire have been at less than recommended max pressure.

Greenball does not make tires.

They are a tire distributor. They carry Highway master, Towmaster and a bunch of others that are made in China and Taiwan.

I have Goodyear LT tires on 5er. The past year I have made 4 crosscountry trips, and the tread looks great.

We had a blowout on a Goodyear G614 caused by tread separation. We also had some trailer damage. Goodyear reimbursed us without question for the damage and replacement tires (different brand). We were in a rural area and unable to get Goodyear tires. A second tire was beginning to separate, so based on all that we've read on this forum, we won't use Goodyear again.

I just wish there were better options on this size tire. I've read mixed reviews of the Goodyears, but then everything else is some obscure never heard of brand tire. At least Goodyear sounds like they honor there warranty.
Does anyone know of an alternative to the Goodyears in a load G LT235/85R16?
