I agree with Sunseeker2007 on the asking for permission thing.

I've never even given any thought to asking. Why would they care? No one has ever said a word to us and we do this on nearly every trip.

But You are talking about a State Park - where you paid just for electric? Did you have to pay to dump as well?
If you did not have to pay to dump, then I see no problem with a state park, as long as there was no problem from the management. However, if you had to pay to dump, then if it would stiff the state, that's not very fair.
The biggest thing I would suggest, is that you ask first instead of just doing it. And I would do only in government parks - state/federal/or regional not private parks as they have their own set of rules.

Any time I figure the dump line will be long,I send my 6 year old out on a scouting mission as I'm breaking camp. He knows what a full hook up site is and takes off on his bike looking for one.
This past weekend it wasn't necessary, but it has been in the past. I just back in to an empty site and dump the tanks.
In and out in 10 minutes.

When you pay for full service, you are also paying for the convenience of dumping, at will, into your site's sewer connection instead of waiting in line at the community dump station. In a way, it's like butting in line if you haven't paid for full service. If you have, no problem.

I see nothing wrong with it in theory. BUTTTTT the last time i watched someone do this the guy took the sewer hose put it up to the fresh water connection and rinsed the hose on the ground. Not only did he contaminate the tap but left hose cleaning water run on the ground. I now bleach the fresh water tap before i hook up.

Yep, I've done that before, don't see any problem with it. Especially, if you ask the CG for permission first (which I do).
I think its a great idea, to keep the lines down at the dump station.
One poster above does make a valid point, about the fact that a full service site costs extra, and you are basically getting that 'extra' without paying for it. But, still..if nobody is in the site, CG management doesn't mind, and you don't make a mess (shouldnt do that regardless where you dump)..I see no problem at all with this.
Hey, thats a good idea, 'bout sending the kid out on a 'scouting' mission, to find an empy full service site. Think I might have to try that once.

I've done it toavoid a line at the main drop site. One concern a CG owner may have is that the individual sites may not have the capacity to deal with a large influx of effluent. It depends on the park but I know in one that the full hook up sites had individual little systems as opposed to the main dump site that had a large holding tank and drain field. One person dumping would not matter but if 3 or 4 hit it back to back it could become a problem.

Also "been there and done that" and will again in the future if in a similar situation. What's the harm? We never leave a site dirty and, in most cases, it looks better than when we arrived.

No harm no foul, sometimes it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission.
Actually my storage lot has a dump so once connected I would probably just roll.
