Hi Mandrake,

Yep, the weight didn't come on overnight and it ain't going to come off overnight as well. That's right, I've got my eye on the goal at the end of the tunnel and I can see it in the distance. It might take me a while to get there, but I WILL finally get to my ultimate goal.

Thanks for your conginued support.

Don't know if this will help. But I change the focus from loosing weight to learning to eat right and getting physically fit. Then the weight will come off as a by-product and hopefully when I have my weight down my eating habits will have changed. And if you do have one indulging night you do not feel as guilty because you know you are still healthy and you can stay on track. Of course I am not done yet so this theory is untested for me.

Hey there Big guy. REMEMBER - - - - - take bites no bigger than the size of a pencil eraser then chew each bite a minimum of 15 times!!!! Make liquid out of it. Place your fork down between bites and take AT LEAST 20 minute to eat. Also Do not drink with your meals or 1 hour afterwards.

Those "stuck" episodes are not at all fun.

Good luck

Hi Bette,

Yes mother! I am doing better. Since this weekend I've slowed WAY down on my eating and chewing very thoroughly. Thanks for the tips!

I'm so glad you are having such great results with this procedure!!
There're even better days ahead for you.

I had gastric by-pass surgery in 1978, when it was very nearly still experiemntal surgery. I've never had the bad experiences others did. Lost steadily down to my goal weight and have maintained it ever since. No, I don't excercise and I eat pretty much anything I want. I can eat more now than I could then, of course. I'm so glad people are sharing their good experiences here!! Medical intervention can be a life saver and it's hard for folks to decide to go that route when all they hear are the horror stories or at best the lack of good results. Keep sharing your progress and be proud you are enlightening others.

Hi Rob,

Yep, Muscle Milk is great. I've been using it in my protein shakes for several weeks now. How goes it? I am doing really well. In a couple of weeks I'm headed in for another "fill."

Hi Ruth,

Thank you so much for your post and your encouraging words to everyone. I admire your courage having the gastric bypass surgery done when it was still so new and unheard of in the field of weight loss surgery. I am so happy to hear of your positive results. You are so correct, weight loss surgery can be a huge life-changing experience. Take care and stay in touch.

GOOD....Keep it up...... I need to go back in a couple weeks too, see if he wants to put more in, the last appoinment I was there 5 minutes..He just said your doing good ,keep doing what your doing.. I lost 60 pounds to date But its not easy. I would like to have more"fill" in my band, I feel I can eat too much if I let myself..

I wish I would have discovered the muscle milk earlier, but the atkins shakes I have been taking are pretty good as well..
