Hey Chuck! Good to see you posting! Please don't overdo things, OK??
I saw a very cool looking chocolate drink on the Food Network that other day. Let me know when you are ready for some chocolate chips in a cool refreshing smoothie kinda drink and I'll find the recipe for you. That will just have to do I guess..... since I can't make any fresh baked cookies for you right now.

Hi All,
I thought I'd give a mini-update. All is going well. I go see my surgeon today for my post-op appointment. I am healing nicely.
I'm still on liquids, only a few more days to go before changing over to the "mushy" food stage. I'll be so glad when that happens. I am not tolerating the Optifast (prescription liquid protein drink) very well right now. The taste is not appealing to me anymore. So I've been drinking Slimfast's and eating lots of high-protein yoghurt's.
The good news, I've lost around 30# and DW has lost 16# on her Slimfast diet along with me.
Yesterday I really went out for the first time, we went to see "The Dark Knight" (great movie). When I walked into the lobby, the smell of the popcorn was unbelievable. I was about ready to attack the concession stand and dive into the popcorn bin. The popcorn popping smelled so good!
Take care all,

CONGRATULATIONS on you and your Mrs. losing weight! Also for getting past the concession counter . Not only are you saving yourself from unhealthy, fattening food, but saving BIG $$$$$ to boot.
May have to go see that movie since it's getting good reviews.
Glad your healing nicely and mushies are just around the corner for you.
Let us know how the doctor visit went.

2 scoops mint chocolate chip ice cream
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup mini-chocolate chips
1 cup ice
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth and frothy. Serve in a tall glass.
A review of the drink says this:
Try Edy's No Sugar Added Mint Choc Chip ice cream, coz it's pretty good for this recipe. I put 1/2 a scoop more than what the recipe calls for, and I skip the additional 1/4 cup choc chips. Of course you have to use evaporated milk, if you use condensed milk it will be too sweet. The sweetness was just right the way I made it. My husband and I both liked it.
The hostess of the show, Sandra Lee, also suggested adding a shot of chocolate liqueur to it after you blend it, I don't think you'll be able to do that for a while though. It would make a nice chocolate/mint fix with or without the liqueur.

Hi All,
Terry and I met with the surgeon yesterday and all is well. I am healing up perfectly and have been released by him unless I have further questions or issues. I've now been handed over to the group who supervised by "banding" to supervise me the rest of the way through my weight-loss journey. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers through the surgery process.

Great update Chuck!! Sounds like you are doing very well! Awesome!
I'm glad you think the shake will be tasty. I haven't tried it yet but have all the ingredients ready. I plan to serve some as a dessert for my Thursday morning breakfast bunch (w/o the liqueur ) perhaps with the liqueur it would make a nice weekend treat.
