Has anyone pulled a toad on 407? Interested in what the toll was.

The tolls are on the 407 Website

It also states the following:

Q. If a passenger vehicle pulls a trailer that increases the vehicle weight to over 5,000 kilograms, does the light vehicle rate apply?

A. No. When pulling a trailer that brings the weight of the vehicle to over 5,000 kilograms, heavy toll rates apply.

Not an answer to your question, but wanted to share our experience. We often drive our mh + toad from London to Ottawa. Because the east end of the 407 does not connect directly to the 401, we find that it is just as fast to stay on the 401 - and a lot less expensive. The key is to time a trip through Toronto for mid-day. At rush hour even the 407 can be very slow.

Also we find that the slowest part of the trip is often through Mississauga - west of the 407. It is worse than normal lately because of construction in the area.

It must be a while since you were down this way, the 407 goes to west of Burlington now (it joins up at the QEW/403/Brant Street area), and has for a number of years now.

I was on the 401 last week from W. to East at 9:30am on a Friday and sailed right through with only one slowdown to 80kph. Try to beat that on the 407.

You will probably get two bills, one for the MH and one for the car, I have had that happen. Obviously they can't tell if the towed car if not just tailgating. If you do not have a transponder in an over 5 ton vehicle, and they think it looks like a bus, add a $100 or $200 add-on on top, that happened to me too. I had to fax a copy of my registration to prove it was a private coach.

Actually I came through last Monday. Coming from London on the 401 we don't see the 407 until east of Trafalger Road. However I was mistaken about the location of the construction - it is east of the 401 / 407 interchange.

I usually take route 7 right through Toronto (Home town) and there are no tolls on route 7. Bagman
