We read or sit by the campfire and fall asleep in our chairs. We we finish the book we have, we walk across the parking lot and into the Wal-Mart to get another one.

Just kidding about the Wal-Mart part... They would generally frown on the campfire.

We tend to either read or talk around the campfire. Sometimes we bring a fguitar and sing songs also. Lots of fun!!

We take the TV and a dish but find we really don't care whether it is on or not. It just kinda sits there, in the way actually.
Most fun for me is sitting around the campfire. Just relaxing and watching the fire can be practically hypnotic.
Sometimes I will bring out my balloons and pump and practice my balloon animals. It is a great way to get to meet other campers. Their kids will see the balloons and come running toward our site with mom or dad or both in tow. I get to practice, kids get to smile and we all get to meet new people.
Wow camping is great!

We like to camp in the forests of California where we take strong flash lights into the forest and look for glowing eyes.(Pretty spooky)

But mostly we set around the camp fire, tell stories and listen to the quiet.

Partman,
I love Popcorn. Could you explain how to do that?
Thanks
Deb

Sorry it took so long to reply, haven't been on the computer for awhile. OK, here goes.......You need a paper bag, the kind you USED to get at the grocery store, not sure where to find them now. Put in some cooking oil, enough to soak the kernels in, put in the kernels. Not too many, maybe three or four tablespoons. Shake it up a bit to get the kernels coated and hold over the fire. This is where it can get competitive. Too close to the the fire and the bag lites up causing kids and old ladies to go running and screaming to safer ground. Too far over the fire and all you get is hungry kids and a sore arm. Somewhere in between is that sweet spot for perfectly popped corn with no old maids. Get more than one identically prepared bag, more than one willing participant and let the games begin!!!!

We are tent campers- maybe a TT after we get settled in a new house. Camp fires, smores, pop corn and maybe a movie for the kids just before lights-out.

Agree with all of the above. We take a nap around 2:30, get up and go exploring or hiking. After, we setup under the awning or around the fire for happy hour. Then we make dinner, talk and listen to some music, usually Astrud Gilberto or Chris Botti. The television is there and we always check for reception. If we get the news, that's great. If not, we keep it off. An occasional DVD movie or Golden Girls episode is enough for us.

Lots of walking and talking, wondering where we are and why we are and where we are supposed to go.
