I have an 05 36B pace arrow. on my last two outings the LP gas detecter has starting to beep. I've turned off the gas valve and also replaced the batteries. any suggestions

Over time the sensor can go bad. I would try a new one and see what happens.

what batteries did you change? Sounds like a low voltage alarm to the rv.Mine does that when the battery drains.

As said check the venting around the sensor to make sure it's not fouled or blocked. If thats ok and the voltage going to it is good, time to replace it. Contacting the units manufacturer will get the best result.

I'm a bit corn-fused about the battery changing. My experience, albeit limited, says that thr CO detector has batteries, but the propane detector runs off the coach battery.
PS: recently read my manual on my LPG detector, and it says to test it with butane. I shall need to call them and ask why I shouldn't use LPG!! Both are flammable gasses, and from what I understand, the detectors will sound off in the presence of any "-ane" gasses, like methane (dog farts)

I had an overzealous las clean mine with furniture polish. It beeped at me until the day I threw it out and bought a new one.

You said: "Started to beep"

Tell me

Was it "BeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeP"

or "Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep" (About as fast as you read this)

or "Beep" (Very long pause) "Beep" (Very long pause) "Beep"

Now: To properly interpert the pattern you will need to R(ead) T(he) F(ine) M(anual) that came with the item (Ok, Ok, I know what the F really stands for)

(Hopefully you are now laughing)

But on *MY* detector the last pattern is "Internal issue detected" usually the "internal" issue is a low battery.. It is supposed to have a "Low battery" pattern too.

Also what color and blink pattern is the indicator light........ Again the manual translates the pattern of sound and light..

As I said: when mine is low on power it flashes "internal fault detected" (internal issue) Mine runs on house battery and is often the first indication that I'm in DEEP DISCHARGE

It's always worth vacuuming it and blowing it out with an air compressor.
Blowing it out seems to work better for me.

Also as said by other posters, a lot of chemicals will set it off. Hairspray, Fabreeze, and many others.

And then be very sure that you don't actually have a propane leak.
