They can be noisy but if you lube them per the REESE instructions they will make nary a noise !

Using Vaseline, where the bars set in the hitch head I lube the two lugs of the bars. I also put a light coat of Vaseline on the cams where the bars rest.

Mine are a lot quieter than the junk friction bar that I snapped off, was. Put the Dual Cam on, you will not regret it. If you have had any issue with trailer movement it will disappear once properly adjusted. It was the very best $170 I ever spent on towing equipment.

I heard you were not supposed to put any kind of grease on the cams

Per the Reese instructions, you can put a light coat of petroleum jelly on the cams.

Your not. Per Reese, vaseline is ok. You can read about it here at the bottom of the page.

Mine were noisy before I started using a very small amount of vaseline on them. They are much better now.
The dual cam system makes the trailer much, much easier to tow.

The dual cam has been the best money I have spent.

At first, we towed with a short wheel base, V8, Toyota 4-Runner. We never experienced any sway problems using the dual-cam sway bars. They worked as advertized. We never had the slighest hint of sway.

When we moved to the Chevy, I had to move the mountings on the trailer and reset the head. I followed the Reese instructions and all went well without any problems.
