You'll get lots of answers, and most of them probably work. My choice is simple Dawn detergent and a not too stiff bristle brush. Labeled roof cleaners cost more, but in my experience don't do a better job. Be careful to keep the sides rinsed down as you rinse the top, to avoid streaks.
Never use anything containing petroleum based solvents. And don't feel that you have to do it more often than about once a year.

I've used the Protect All cleaner and treatment for years. You only have to use a sponge mop and no hard scrubbing. Usually the first spring cleaning and the fall before storage.

Murphys oil soap is all i have ever used and it does a perfect job. I do the whole motorhome with it and it always leaves a great shine, looks like i just waxed it. I get it at Walmart. Removes the black streaks and the roof looks like new.
