Dicor hubcap style wheel covers are a sloppy fit and one came off once and I got it back, but came off again in an area that was not safe to retrieve. I know they were on properly as I check tire pressure before hitting the road after every campsite and due to the loosening of the caps I made sure they were snug.

I called dicor and they claim that they have never heard of a hubcap coming off. I find that hard to believe. The lady I talked to on the phone promised a return call which never came.

Has anyone secured the tension fit type hubcaps with a mechanical fastener etc.. so they would not come off again and how did you do it?
Thanks

Had same problem and was solved by installing Chrome wheel liners, I lost 3 covers on mine. The liners are not to expensive and they install very simple and look much better. In my case Jayco payed for them.Denny

I managed to knock one of my rear dually wheel covers out of round by striking a stone wall on a narrow, windy road. Subsequently, the cover would periodically come loose, held on only by the valve extenders - a hairy situation on the road. I tried to rubber hammer the cover back into round with only limited success. My wife suggested a solution which has worked for two years - criss-crossed bungee chords connecting the underside wheel to the cover. Not too attractive but functional, and a whole lot less expensive than trying to replace the cover.

I found it impossible to check tire pressures with the wheel covers on. Correct tire pressure is a safety issue - chrome wheel covers are not. My wheel covers are now sitting inside a cardboard carton in the stick house. They will remain there at least until we need new tires, at which time we'll consider having the ritzy extended metal valve stems put on.

@ aeejbe -- pm sent

I called wheelmaster and they were, along with me, of the opinion that duallys should have liners in them.
I called Winnebago and they sent me two new ones, but just replacement dicor hubcap type.

I am toying with something along the line of a piece of strap steel and bolting it to the hub bolts and then using a locking nut on a bolt to attach the hub in the middle. It should'nt look too bad.
