Looking at most of the people who post that they can't stay in RV parks and they can't afford fuel, tires and the rest.
It is simple, they spend so much on all the goodies. A 45 thousand dollar plus diesel 6 passager, 4x4 with all the goodies on it, a 5th wheel 1/3 longer than needed and twice a expense as they needed to do the job. Now they are all yelling, it cost so much for the fuel.
Now lets say you travel like us about 7000 miles in the summer. Lets take 10 mpg for the mileage, and take three years ago at $2 dollars per gal. now it is $4.50. So the old and new number for gal is 700 gals. time two dollars or $1400 dollars, now at $4.50 it is $3150. or $1750. more for this summer.
Now remember you could have bought a pickup for $20,000 less than you did, and a 5th wheel or even a nice travel trailer for $30,000 less. Take $50,000 x 8 percent interest, that is $4000 dollar per year you could have spend on fuel and had $2300 dollars left over for Rv Parks, steaks and beer. I see the answer, what is the problem. Is this another subprime problem in ones life.

Gotta agree. I hate whiners. If you can't afford it then get out or step down. I don't want to hear about it.....

I tend to agree with the OP.
People spent themselves to the brink of bankruptcy with toys, new cars, bigger houses and essentially raped their home equity for things that are now sitting collecting dust.
That is on average, I do feel bad for those on truly fixed incomes that lived below their means and are having trouble adapting but on average those aren't the people complaining.

Supercharged ???
SO; you don't feel someone is stealing from you?
If Electricity was doubled during the summer an AZ you would have to pay for it or roast in your own home. Would you like it???
Do you feel that doubling the price of fuel is justified?

Pretty much the truth till you get to the 8% interest part, I haven't seen that in a while.

Sorry, didn't have time to read your post. I am leaving this weekend in my 40 ft. Cummins diesel powered motorhome, towing my Jeep Grand Cherokee, on a 800 mile trip to New York. Too busy traveling to chat!! Sorry!!

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.....

Gotta agree about the whiners. They're definitely not interested in saving gas...just whining. I tried going 60-65 on the freeway and EVERYBODY passed me. Less traffic? Right! Sunday afternoon....3 lanes of traffic backed up for 20 miles. SUNDAY afternoon!!! Just keep complaining about gas prices. It really helps.

There's a whole lot of people selling this year up where we are. But I know the people who are selling. They bought as you said - beyond their means in the first place.

I agree with the OP about people living at the very edge of their incomes, and then when an unexpected rise in costs, they are out of business. I lived at 65% of my take home income all my life, and then retired at 54!!! How many can say that????

I don't know about the steak and beer Supercharged, but those motorhomes, big 5ers etc were sure out on the roadways this last week and weekend. They must be buying fuel as they are moving and many parks full. As far as whiners, it is easier listening to them than the non-whiners complaining about the whiners! At least the whiners usually have something intelligent to say. As far as living at 65% of income, depends on your income.
