We pulled out tt out yesterday to the cg so we wouldn't have so much to do after getting off from work today.(CG is 20 miles away) We knew that we were at the very beginning of inlet of water and that it was possible the kids would not be able to swim there(to swampy). This was the only site that was available to reserve way back in March. Ok we pull up and see the water was down and a little growed up but the boat should make it. The site a little to left of us(but also in front of us a little was not considered a Lake site but there was a trail to the water that stops about mid way of the front of our site has 3 BIG tents on it. So we were like yeah us cause in past experiences tent campers in GA can get rowdy. We had almost finished setting up when the tent campers pulled up in a boat and parked right in front of our camper. I loudly said to my husband outside the camper "Well at least we know our boat will make it up here tomorrow"
A few min. later a 2ND boat pulls up and parks in front of the camper. . Thats not all a few mins. later a 3RD very LOUD boat pulls up and takes the last spot available for the boat and leaves us no water even if the kids wanted to tread past the weeds. The first boater goes out to the 3rd boat and ask them to move to the other side of them so he did. Ok, There is a limit on our COE campgrounds at West Point Lake. 8 people max. There is at least 6 adults and 5 or 6 children. Should we say something to the camp host or should we wait and see if they behave? Also what should we do about their boats taking up the whole inlet. We almost pulled our camper back home yesterday. What would you do?

I'd walk over and have a polite conversation with them. Something along the lines of "I see you folks have several boats with you... we brought ours also and are going to need to be able to squeeze is in here somehow. Could you folks keep me a space available?".

If simple reason didnt work I might then ask the staff to help me.

Hope it works out for you!

Jeff is right on... have a friendly conversation with them.. where are they from, etc... then ask about the boats. Since it is a COE facility, the lake front at your TT is not reserved for you only.

I had very similar situation few seasons ago, when I reserved pull thru site for me, my trailer and friend with the boat, while small site next to me put couple of their 7 vehicles/trailers on my parking spot. The campground has additional parking for boat trialers, but they preffered ours. I hesitated to talk to the host at the beginning and simply asked them to move the vehicle before my friend arrives. They ignored my request and when my friend arrived with boat he had his parking spot taken and those people were gone from campsite. Later on they started reporting us.
Let the Host do his job.

In my opinion, you are being way to passive. They knew the rules, and if they didnt, it is time they got an edcuation.

Why waste your time? Go demand that they (the people in charge of the park) adhere to the rules. Very simple , if they dont, why should you?

I just called the camp host and he said he can't control the water and that the Coast Guard is on site 47 and for me to go tell them. I doubt I will do that. My dh said he would just pull the boat to boat ramp everytime he wants to go out

So here again the 10% override the 90% who abide by the rules.

You know if you want to be that passive and are afraid to discuss issues with people then you probably should just take the boat in and out each time. Unfortunately you never know what could have happened if you had talked to your neighbors. If they didn't know you had a boat then then didn't know you needed the water space in front of your campsite. Also when they go out on the water then you go ahead and put your boat up where they were.

1st You seem to assume that because they are in tents they are going to be rowdy.- I have seen as many if not more rowdy people in trailers as tents.

2nd. Renting a campsite does not give you exclusive use of the water.

3rd. Are you sure about the limit on people and if children count in the total and are they all staying or visiting? I have stayed at COE campgrounds in GA and never ran into that limit. A look at the COE web site says no more than 4 units per site but doesn't mention a limit on adults and children. A Look at the West Point Lake web site doesn't mention a limit either. You may certainly be right but if that is the policy it is not well documented. Since the camp host was of no help to you I would assume they are within the limit. If that is the case your only complaint seems to be they have 3 boats and camp in tents.
