In our quest to camp in every state in the US and the limited time we have without being retired, we have been focusing on the eastern states. Does anyone have any interesting places in WV or PA that you could suggest. We had one person suggest Black Water State Park. Has anyone stayed here?

You can "kill two birds with one stone" here. Try the KOA in Harpers Ferry. Lots of interesting history and you can take a side trip to Gettysburg. The new visitors center at Gettysburg is fantastic.

Stonewall Jackson State Park in WV is REALLY hard to beat. Great E/W/S sites on the water (campground section is on a peninsula) with grassy sites down to the shore where you can beach your boat. Daily newspaper delivery to your site, trash pickup at your site, Arnold Palmer Golf Course and several on site restaurants (which is good because there isn't much around there).

I'll second NHIrish. Stonewall Jackson is hard to beat. Lots of deer roaming around and a nice marina if you want to rent a boat.

We have stayed at Blackwater SP and Watoga SP. Liked both. It would help to know what kind of place you are looking for. Are you hikers, birders, touring by car; do you require full hookups; prefer a natural setting, etc.?
Have a great trip.

We like it all. But its nice to have things to go see that are close. Sewer is not that big a deal because all we have is gray water from the sink. Showers are a must though.

Thanks

WV state parks are some of the finest and as suggested,Stonewall is hard to beat.
We also liked Watoga down near Marlinton, you can camp right on the beautiful Greenbriar river but this place can be a challenge to get to as we've yet to find an easy route pulling a camper.

In the area of Stonewall and Blackwater is also Canan Valley, Seneca Rocks, Seneca Caverns, Smokehole Caverns, Dolly Sods, Just to name a few. The region is very tourist friendly with plenty to see and do.

WV has the whole state park gig figured out. Canaan and Stonewall are great, as is Pipestem.
