After a week at a Dry campground at the Ocean I pulled up to the dump station. When I started to open the cap on the end of drain tube I saw that the Black Tank Valve had been pulled all the way out.
Seems I was camped next to someone with a real &@#$ sense of humor.
After I pushed the valve back in I still had 2 1/2 feet of 6 inch pipe full of stuff that I had to deal with.
My first thought was to wrap the valve handle with bare wire, connect a coil then run wire to battery. However, with my luck, I would probalby forget to hit the kill switch before grabing the valve myself.
What I will do is attach a wire to the frame and wrap it around the handle. That will stop someone from just reaching under the edge of the skirt and pulling the valve.
Wanted to post this so it will help others to remember to check that valve before removing the cap.

I installed one of these after forgeting to close my blacktank after dumping one time. Never had a problem again.

Hard to go wrong with a little extra insurance. I use the same product myself.

Buy one of the large end caps that also have a small threaded drain cap that matches a garden hose. Take the small cap off first and you can drain into a small bucket or the loose drain hose. This works good if you have a blade valve that leaks a little.

This is a very good idea.

great idea! unfortunatley, it won't work...12 volts that the battery supplies is hardly enough to even feel. What you need is an electric fence power supply!

I agree 100%. Only problem is if the black tank is the culprit, my luck would be that solids would block the hose outlet and not allowing it to drain

I had this happen to me several years ago. I was at a KOA on I-70 and just stopped for the night. I chose the cheaper site without sewage hook up as I could dump at their dump station on the way out. There was a family next with teen agers that were kinda roudy and I guess they thought it would be a good joke. I didn't notice it when I opened my cap. What a mess. After cleaning it up, I had to go in and shower and change clothes. Murder was on my mind if I had access to who did it.

if you have two gray tanks plumbed to the same outlet, it is also a way to equalize the water in both...
