Jason...We're camped out past Cielito Lindo at the former Gypsy's camp just below San Quintin. This is about 185 mi. (300km) below the border. Gypsy's camp is now no longer a campsite/stopover for RVs. The owners are now leasing the property to a clam/scallop harvesting concern as of July this year. They never really made much $'s from the RV crowd anyway and with the collapse of RV tourism in Baja this makes better sense for the owners.

Hey DH, I've seen your rig here and over on the escapees forum, I was wondering after all was said and done, would you build another one? Did the ride end up being what you wanted after the air bags were installed? I was wondering if you have had problems with soft sand like Pismo or not. Did you consider doing the 6x6 conversion? I am really impressed with the pictures you have taken. If nothing else... NICE RIG!!

is that Silver Strand? Been wanting to camp there for awhile. Would love to be that close to the water, but that place is always jammed!

Yup! There was only about 15-20 rigs in the whole lot over Christmas and it was 70 degrees....

Getting there is half the fun....

To answer your questions the ride now after the Kelderman conversion is great. I can go over speed bumps and almost not feel them in the rear, I am still working on the front I have Deever Springs doing load calculations and spring rate testing. I have yet to get stuck but when I do its not going to be fun as I weigh over 17,000lbs. I don’t think I would do much different other than more research on seating as my wife hated the Bostroms I installed. I now have Superior Custom seats and my wife loves them so do the kids.

Here's a picture of our Toy Hauler. We don't have toys to haul but use the garage for storage of our grill, equipment, etc. It's also where our Blue Heeler, Buckets, sleeps!
