C'mon, help out a fellow American and buy wood for sale by the campground.

Poor guy sweating all day sawing and stacking that wood and only to sell it for five bucks a wheelbarrow load and you want to bring your own?

This should get a few snapperheads going. LOL

LOL... if I could buy firewood for $5 a wheelbarrow load, I would never bring my own again!

In the meanwhile... sometimes I just load some in the back of the burb or sometimes set a tote or two of wood inside the door of the trailer.

I always bring a few 5 gallon buckets of small, dry lumber that I keep at home. When we trim shrubs and trees, we keep anything larger than 3/4" and cut it into 16" lengths and stack it to dry. We also use it in our firepit at home. Bringing a couple buckets of it with means that we always have enough DRY firewood to start a fire and cook our meals. If we want a fire all night, we gather ( where allowed and dry ) or buy from the local store. If we had more large firewood at home, we'd bring more buckets with us for longer fires.

Thats what I do with my Burb. I could not explain it any easier. I always lay a tarp down to help keep the back of the Burb clean.

We camp about 90 miles from our home and they do not sell wood. We stop along the roadside where people sell the wood. We put it in a Blue IKEA bag , which is made from a plastic tarp-like material. Very handy to use and the wood stays inside.

I gotta be honest. The cleanest, easiest way to transport firewood from state to state these days with the Emerald Ash borer beatle on the loose is to throw a few green backs in either your wallet or pocket. Then pull 'em out at the campground and use 'em to pick up a bundle or two of "their" wood. I hate doing this because 80% of the time the wood is wet from rain, or green because it's not seasoned. But, the good news is, your RV and TV stay clean, carry less weight and leave more room for other stuff.

I know, not what you wanted to hear, but....

That method works great when I use my Yukon for hauling firewood. Oh yeah, if you are worried about the kids getting nailed with a piece of wood, let'em wear bike helmets.

That is how my buddy does it in his EX...but he puts a plastic tarp on the floor first and then wraps the pile...much easier to clean up afterwards....although since I got the bigger truck I carry most of the firewood when we camp together.

Yep, I use a tarp also. I used to use the plastic bins, untill the bottom of one broke. my toes will never be the same!.......... well they are but you get what I meen.
