hello all,

I have complained to our dealer about water in the footwell of our minnie winnie 2 times aready. They said they used a pressure hose on it and can't find the leak.

Yesterday, I drove 8 hours in the rain to get home and the floor and carpet were soaking wet.

I am getting a little annoyed about this as this will now be the third time I am complaining about it.

Have any of you had a similar problem that can point me in the direction to look? I think it is coming from underneath as the carpet under the seat is dry and the passanger side is dry as well.

They try to tell me that it is coming from up top. I just got through rebuilding the cabover and using eternabond tape and as an extra precaution, caulked as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Give us the year and chassis and we may be able to give you some pointers on where to look.
You may have to lift the carpet and look for a hole plug that maybe broken, missing, or leaking.

I had dodge van, I know it's not a minnie winnie, but had the same problem. The floor would be come soaking wet when it rained. The dealer found the problem under the hood, it was a loose or should I say improperly mounted heater fan box, that would allow water to run down between the fire wall and the box. My point being instead of the RV Dealer, you might want to try dealer for the chassie. Bill

If its an E450 or E350, there is a seam under the cowl cover just below and to the outside of the windshield wiper shaft that doesn't get properly sealed at the factory. To get to it, remove the driver's side wiper arm and the 6 or so screws that hold the cowl cover as well as the cover. look for the lap seam on the firewall just inside the hinge and below the wiper shaft. Scrape out any old sealant and replace with a good caulking compound like Dicor or similar. That cured my wet footwell, even through midwest thunderstorms.

Ford had a fix remedy for this firewall leak. Took 3 times to the ford dealer to remedy my problem. That was 3 yrs ago and still no leak. My unit is a 2003 e450. Check with your Ford dealer about it. It's a warrentee item. Denny

It is a 2001 ford E450. Would that still be under warrantee for that problem?

Thanks for all the responses. I hate the dealer we bought this from as all their work is shoddy at best. We are trying to find another dealer that will do the work on it using the extended plan we bought. I am glad we bought it. It is the premium plan and cost 4000 dollars but we are already at that mark for repairs.

If we keep going it will be a new rig!!!
