The 6.0 Powerstroke has been the topic of many, many, reliability conversations since it came out in 2003. Ford sued International over the excessive warranty costs on this engine. International counter-sued, etc. That, and advice from several diesel mechanics, is the reason that I bought a Dodge/Cummins in 2005. No problems at all so far and haven't regretted it one bit.

If she wants a new 5er...you need a new truck or at least a new over and under shotgun....only fair.

Yes we did. We were up that way and stopped in. Didn't have the Truck with us, so back we go on Thursday.

Congratulations on the new RV. We just returned from a 5 week trip through the Rocky Mountains in our new Cougar 318SAB. We had a great time and were very comfortable in our RV. Not that a lot of things didn't go wrong, and I'll list them here, not to discourage you, but so that you will be prepared if you experience any similar troubles. Carry lots of 30 amp fuses, both the wide kind for the slides and the skinny ones for the landing gear, which is an in line fuse you'll find near the motor. The lower seal on the office slide disconnected a couple of times. The door latch came loose while we were inside, I couldn't repair it because the screen door was in the way and we called the campground manager to come and open the door from the outside so we could get out. The first time it rained we learned that the bedroom slide is out of adjustment so the rain that falls on the roof of the slide runs toward the trailer instead of away from it and then it runs down the side and puddles on the bedroom and bathroom floor. The landing gear broke when a shear pin sheared off, we had to have that repaired on the road, and the repair shop rebuilt both of the landing gears with new shear pins and gears, all covered by warranty. I use the air bed in the sofa, but the bed frame kept puncturing the mattress and after a couple of patches, I stopped folding it into the bed. The electrical box in the pin box came loose and fell out, we also stopped at a Cougar dealer and had that fixed under warranty. Except for the slide that is out of alignment, these were fairly minor events in hindsight, but at the moment, terribly frustrating. Would I do it again, I think so...
