When considering cost to have a TT I forgot to consider one small item COUNTY PERSONAL PROPERITY TAX on our TT. It is $ 1xxx.xx yearly. I thought about site rental / gas cost to tow / maint.cost / storage cost / insurance cost. Almost fell down when I opened notice, almost as much as our house.

I feel your pain. Living in a small town in a small rural county, I enjoy the benefits of both county and town property tax. Admittedly, neither is has high as I've paid in other localities, but the double-dip always gets me.

Glad I live in Michigan. No personal property tax, county tax only since we live outside a town, and our trailer license is good for life, meaning for as long as we have this particular trailer. License costs are $100,$200, or $300 depending on the weight of the trailer.

We ain't got no personal property tax in Texas....hee,hee....s'why I came back home from Arkansas. Personal Property Tax: something you get to pay for just for the PRIVILEGE of owning something - OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Uh...double taxation? NAH! They wouldn't do THAT...would they? NAH! They'll quadruple tax you...over and over and over again. Come to Texas, we're friendly here, no state tax, no personal property tax...yeah, it probably comes in different ways, but it hurts less.

Yea I'm well aware of the PPT snake and to make matters worse in Fairfax County while a car will depreciate to where there is no PPT a TT will only depeciate to %25 of what you paid for it and stays there forever. A TT I paid $6,000 back in 1982 was still taxed at $1,200 last year.
