Well just got back from a 5 day outing and It's time to replace the shocks on my 01 Screw 4x4. I tow a 21ft HTT and the bouncing on the road feels unsafe. The ones that I'm considering are the Bilstein BST HEAVY DUTY and the KYB MONOMAX. Any others??? We don't drive the truck daily, it's our TV so I'm mostly with good shocks that will tow nicely.

I caved to all the hoop a la and put bilsteins on the back of my 99 F 250. If I use my imagination, they are better than the Ford ones I took off.
Next time i am under the truck I am gonna spray apint the yellow so I don't advertise for them and also to keep people from knowing that I joined the lemmings.

The Bilsteins are great on the front axle of my F350.
I have Rancho 9000X on the rear axle and they are good too.

Plain old Monroes have done well. For a Mazda to transit bus they make them right for most application. Every truck/suv I have owned since 1989 got Monroes at one time. My 04 F250 will get them soon.

I have the exact same truck and just replaced all 4 shocks in it last spring. I put in Monroe reflex, they had a good deal on them as well. So far they work alot better than the ones that came out, A lot less bouncing. I pull a 22ft TT with mine so very similar.

When I had my '98 F150, I replaced the shocks with Monroe's (which weren't expensive). They worked fine for me, and I carry a pop-up truck camper and pull a boat.

I replaced mine with Gabriel's. I went to buy the Monro's but they didn't have them in stock for my truck. They had the Gabrila's on sale so I bought them. I like them they. I towed a 20 foot TT now a 32 foot tt with no bounce. If anyone has driven from Kentucky to Alabama on I65 knows how bad that road is and my shocks managed to control the load fine.
