No dunes but sugar sand in flat Florida: Nice bike, good low/mid power some what flat on top. Too much heat off the header is my only gripe.

If it's the new fuel injected KFX I'd be worried about the sand getting in. It doesn't affect the carb in the older machines, only the piston (eventually). One grain of sand could jam the injectors and result in an expensive repair. But take my opinion with a grain of sand , I own all Yamaha's.

I also wonder about the expense related to "simple" modifications, when I added a cam, pipe and intake to my YFZ450 it was very simple to change the primary jet and idle settings.

Now, if you are asking about 2 stroke vs. 4, I can easily say 4 stroke is the way to go!

Good luck in making a decision!

Lots of fuel injected rides at the dunes and I have never heard 1 complaint.
Use a good oiled filter and keep your air box together.

Cannondales had fuel injection as well, no issues with those other than the fact they were way to expensive for a quad.

Have the Suzuki LTR450R, and love it. Look into it before you buy the Kawasaki. I have ran all brands of quads over the years, and love this one the best. It comes stock with the extended A Arms, and wide rear axle. Have taken it to Little Sahara in Oklahoma, and had no probelms with the fuel injection out there. So I wouldn't be afraid of it on the Kawasaki either. Just clean the filters when you are finished for the day. Either way all the machines made these days are very good. You won't go wrong with any of them, it just comes down to what you want. Be safe.

All the new Raptors are awsome (2006 and up fuel injected).

They have tons of low end torque which is nice for tight trail riding and alot of power all the way through the powerband for great duning!!!

And very reliable!

I would look at the Suzuki for the extra width for the dunes, my buddy has one and it rips!
