I had a friend who had an old p. u. truck that used it to plow snow only. one day he went out to start it up and oil was all over the ground. the moisture/acid that settled at the bottom of the pan rotted a hole in it. I change my oil every fall. I take the old and fairly clean oil and use it for my chainsaw on the bar. I mix 1 can of a STP/Motor Honey equivilent into one gallon of oil. It makes the greatest bar oil.

Most Diesel instruction books say the same thing.
Makes one think the gas & diesel engine builder all own stock in oil company's?

Or maybe they only are trying to protect themselves while the engine is still under warranty.
